Pipes for Fremantle

WHAT IS THE PIPES FOR FREMANTLE PROJECT?

We’re replacing the old, worn pipes in Perth’s water main network. Some sections of the network are over 100 years old and starting to show wear and tear. This work is essential in order to avoid future bursts and leaks.

There will also be some drainage works in Fremantle around the same time.

HOW TO USE THIS PAGE?

This is what we call an 'online engagement hub' which will include regular updates of the project, interactive maps of the works, surveys, guestbooks and much more.

Water Corporation hosted the Pipes for Fremantle 2020 Community Workshop last night, Monday 2 December 2019 at the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce.

The evening kicked off with a welcome to country and introduction by Water Corporation senior advisor Community Engagement, Ingrid Cumming. Will Bessen from Blue Tuna, facilitated the activities and made sure everybody had a say in the world café setting.

It was a lively discussion with a lot of great ideas how Water Corporation can minimise the impact on the local community during the works in 2020.

It was a lively discussion with a lot of great ideas how Water Corporation can minimise the impact on the local community during the works in 2020.

Water Corporation will be continuing engagements about the 2020 works to replace ageing water mains across the Fremantle city center.

We will now plan to go out to businesses to see if they would also like to contribute to the fantastic ideas, insight and suggestions captured on the night. We have also created a online survey for those who couldn't make the session. If you wish to provide us with some ideas, insight and suggestions, click here to have your say.

Water Corporation wants to thank all the wonderful attendees who gave up their time to join us and to the Fremantle Chamber of Commerce for the wonderful meeting space.
